Copper Queens star Katongo donates to Luyando Foundation Girls

Zambia Women’s National team Midfielder Evarine Susan Katongo has donated a set of Jersey and four match balls to her parent club, Luyando Foundation Girls.

Katongo was part of the Copper Queens squad that won bronze at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco back in July and also helped the team win their first COSAFA Women’s Championship title over the weekend.
This is not the first time Katongo is donating to the Luyando Foundation, having done so again in October last year when she donated two sets of jerseys to her club Luyando Foundation Girls.
Katongo thanked the team, coaches, supporters and her family at large. She says she is grateful for her grooming at the Chinika based side.
She implored the team to keep supporting her. “Your support keeps me moving,” said Katongo.
Meanwhile, Zambia U-17 Women’s national team defender Tefeoga Munene thanked Katongo for the gesture and wants her to keep soaring as it motivates her former teammates.
“We are very grateful for a wonderful gesture shown by our skipper. Our prayer is that she keeps flying high as she keeps encouraging us to work extra. It’s gratifying to see one of us excel and now giving
back.

We wish her more blessings,” Munene said. The Zambia U-20 skipper has established herself in the senior team becoming a regular in coach Bruce Mwape’s squad.
