Luyando Foundation Girls football club won the Southern Zone championship, the people’s favourite team of choice won the league on goal difference after finishing the league with the same points as their runner-ups.
The FAZ National Women’s Division One League for the 2022/2023 season is coming to an end with the championship playoffs. The league consists of two zones: the Northern Zone and the Southern Zone. The top two teams from each zone earn promotion to the Super Division. The playoff games, scheduled for June 25th, 2023, will determine the overall champions, runner-ups, and the 3rd and 4th best-placed teams in the country.
The Northern Zone champions are Police Blue Eagles Queens, while Luyando Foundation Girls won the Southern Zone. The Ndise Tiliko Che Girls finished second on goal difference behind eventual the champions, Luyando Foundation Sports Academy in the Southern Zone. In the eastern part of the country, the Chipata Girls football club rounds off the last slot for the four automatically promoted teams that are all elite next season.
The fixtures for the playoffs are set: Police Blue Eagles Queens vs. Luyando Girls Foundation, and Kabwe Celtic Queens vs. Chipata Girls. The venue is the Edwin Emboila Stadium in Lusaka. The playoffs will crown the inaugural champions of the FAZ National Women’s Division One League. The historic Championship playoff will crown the first-ever FAZ National Women’s Division One League Champions overall, Runner-ups, 3rd and 4th best-placed teams in the country for the first ever and newly launched 2022/2023 Season.
