Empowering Vulnerable Children Through Education
The Luyando Foundation Rising Stars Community School is a beacon of hope in John Laing, one of the most underserved communities in Lusaka, Zambia. Established in 2011, the school was created to provide basic education to orphans and vulnerable children, especially those impacted by HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty. Today, the school serves 187 children from Grades 1 to 7 with the support of six volunteer teachers and a dedicated local team.

Supporting the Luyando Foundation Rising Stars Community School
At Luyando Foundation, we strongly believe education is the cornerstone of sustainable change. The Girls’ Education Program is dedicated to supporting vulnerable girls in rural Zambia by providing essential resources including school fees, uniforms, educational materials, menstrual health products, mentorship opportunities, and a secure learning environment. Many beneficiaries are the first in their families to ever attend school.
Millions of children in sub-Saharan Africa face tremendous challenges, losing one or both parents to HIV/AIDS and growing up in poverty. At Luyando Foundation Rising Stars Community School, we provide these children with life-changing opportunities through education, care, and hope. Founded in 2011 in Lusaka, Zambia, our school has grown from teaching Grades 1-4 to now accommodating 187 pupils in Grades 1-7
