Luyando Foundation Rising Stars Community School Program!
In sub-Saharan Africa, about 17 million children have tragically lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS, leaving them vulnerable and in need of support. At Luyando Foundation Raising Star Community School, we embrace these vulnerable children and provide them with the opportunity to access basic education. By doing so, we aim to break the cycle of poverty that often plagues their lives and offer a ray of hope for a better future.
Luyando Foundation Rising Stars Community School Program was established in 2011 with a noble vision of providing education to the children and youth in John Laing, Lusaka, Zambia. We began with Luyando Shining Star Community School, offering classes from Grades 1 to 4, and have since expanded to include Grades 1 to 7, catering to a total of 187 pupils.
Our Goal: Empowering Vulnerable Children Through Education
At Luyando Foundation, we recognize that education is the key to empowering children and youth to transcend the limitations imposed by poverty and the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Our school program is designed to provide the vulnerable with the basic possible education services, nurturing them as they grow into confident and capable individuals.
